A high school senior, who tries to keep his distance from others, forms a bond with a teenage girl diagnosed with leukemia in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. He and his friend try to cheer her up with parodies their favorite movies and then create a film specifically for her. The PG-13 comedic drama is playing in limited theaters for one hour and forty-four minutes.
A young scholar embarks on a mission to introduce his favorite poet to America in Set Fire to the Stars. The task becomes quite difficult as the eccentric Welsh poet struggles with fame and alcohol. Elijah Wood and Celyn Jones star in the limited released drama. The unrated biopic plays for one hour and thirty-three minutes.
A detective seeks revenge after a criminal he sent to prison kills his wife in Vendetta. To get retribution, he purposely gets arrested so he can meet up with his wife’s murderer. Dean Cain and the WWE’s Big Show star in the limited released film. The one hour and thirty minute thriller is rated R for violence and language.
The death of grunge rock legend Kurt Cobain is put into question in Soaked in Bleach. The one hour and forty minute docu-drama is based on real evidence which insinuates that his death may not have been a suicide and that his wife and fellow rocker, Courtney Love, may have had something to do with it. The unrated film is playing in limited theaters.
A woman, trapped in a loveless marriage, falls for a romantic man in Madame Bovary. The limited released drama is based on Gustave Flaubert's classic novel of the same name. It stars Mia Wasikowska, Rhys Ifans and Paul Giamatti. The one hour and fifty-eight minute film is rated R for sex and nudity.
A plague hits a Canadian town when a strange man arrives looking for his wife in The Stranger. Lives are at risk while he’s there. The unrated horror film is running in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-three minutes.
The impact Saturday Night Live has had on society is the focus of the documentary Live from New York!. After 40 years on air, the sketch comedy show has been a part of history, commenting and leaving its mark on important current events and people. The one hour and twenty-two minute film features commentary by the show’s stars including Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Alec Baldwin, Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, Chevy Chase, Andy Samberg, Candice Bergen, Tina Fey and Jane Curtin. The limited released film is unrated.
Protestors, who use pranks to get their message across, are the subjects of The Yes Men are Revolting. This third Yes Men film is more about the people behind the antics than the gags themselves. The men sneak their way into government and media functions while trying to bring attention to climate change. The unrated, comedic documentary is playing in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-one minutes.
Brothers, who were almost never allowed out of their New York City home, find a passion for movies in The Wolfpack. Their lives are turned upside down when one brother escapes and is able to find out what the world is really like. The limited released documentary runs for one hour and thirty-eight minutes. It’s rated R for language.
