Single dad enrolls in cosmetology school to learn how to do his daughter's hair

When Greg Wickherst split from his daughter Izzy’s mom, he realized that he had to learn how to do his daughter’s hair so he did what any other great dad would do... he enrolled in beauty school.

"Hair has definitely not been my thing," Wickherst, who lives in Colorado, told the Huffington Post.

So when the almost-three-year-old girl started to stay at her dad's even more after her parents split, he decided that he wanted to make his daughter look good all the time.

Wickherst works at IntelliTec College, which, luckily for him, has a cosmetology department. He decided to use it to his advantage and asked the students to help him out.

“In no time, I was able to do a simple braid, then a fishbone braid and a French braid,” he said. “I learned how to do a ponytail, then flip it through itself either under or over. I call that an inverted ponytail.”

The hair savvy dad told Buzzfeed, “At that point I was like, I want to try different styles. I didn’t want to be the dad that just didn’t know how to do my daughter’s hair.”

He added that since he shows off his latest styles on Facebook he has been called “the hair dad,” where other parents send him tutorials on how to do create even more hairstyles for little Izzy.

Apparently, he’s so good that several moms have even asked Wickherst for tips on doing their own daughters hair.
