Patrick Schwarzenegger, Belle Thorne to star in tearjerker 'Midnight Sun'

Patrick Schwarzengger will be making his leading man debut in the movie Midnight Sun alongside co-star Bella Thorne.

The two stars were first spotted together with director Scott Speer grabbing a meal at L.A.’s Mud Hen Tavern in April. It later came to Deadline’s attention that it was in fact a business meal.

Schwarzenegger and Thorne will play the leading roles in Midnight Sun. The film is based off a 2006 Japanese film that tells the story of Katie, a 17-year-old girl that has a rare disease.

The disease makes her skin hyper sensitive to sunlight, so even the tiniest bit of exposure could kill her. Yet even thing changes when Katie meets Charlie and they fall into a summer romance.

E Online informs that Eric Kirsten is currently working on writing the script for this young adult movie.

Schwarzenegger’s mom bragged about her son’s accomplishment on Twitter. On Monday she tweeted, “Congrats to @PSchwarzenegger! So exciting. Hard work pays off.”

Shooting of Midnight Sun is expected to start sometime in September
