Nobel winner Sir Tim Hunt resigns after sexist remarks, inspires #distractinglysexy

Nobel Peace prizewinner scientist Sir Tim Hunt has recently resigned from his position as honorary professor at the University College of London due to his blatantly sexist remarks against female scientist.

According to Buzzfeed, at a conference in Seoul, South Korea, Sir Tim Hunt said, “Let me tell you about my trouble with girls. 3 thing happen when they are in the lab; you fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry.”

His remarks caused outrage on the Internet and working women around the world have started to prove how distractingly sexy they are. Twitter has exploded with images of women working hard with clever captions that end with #distractinglysexy.

CNN posted some of these hilarious tweets on their website. One of them showed a picture of a female scientist dropping cheetah poop with the caption, “I was so #distractinglysexy when collecting cheetah crap that even I lost track of what I was doing and dropped some.”

As a joke, pictures on Twitter shows a fake caution sign that reads “Mixed Gender Lab! No Falling In Love Or Crying Permitted.”

Hunt later apologized to anyone he offended, but stands by his comments, reports CNN. “I have fallen in love with people in the lab and people in the lab have fallen in love with me and it’s very disruptive to the science because it’s terribly important that in a lab people are on a level playing field,” he says.
