Lady Gaga sings jaw dropping cover of "Imagine" at European Games

The 2015 European Games began last Friday in Baku, Azerbaijan. During the extravagant ceremony, Lady Gaga performed an amazing rendition of John Lennon’s song “Imagine.”

Seated behind a piano filled with flowers, Gaga stayed faithful to the classic song, but managed to add her own original twist. She started off slow and gradually increased the power of her voice to convey the emotions she was feeling while singing.

Singing “Imagine” during the inauguration ceremony almost brought Gaga to tears. The message that comes from the lyrics represent Gaga’s dream what the world should be like.
“What an honor to have a few moments with the world watching,” she tweeted before her performance. “Could you imagine? What would you say?”

Lady Gaga is known as an advocate for peace and human rights. Two weeks ago, Gaga paired up with New York governor Andrew Cuomo to write an essay about sexual assault on college campuses.

According to the Rolling Stone, the event will have 6,000 athletes from 50 of Europe’s National Olympic Committees. They will be competing in 20 sports like archery, beach soccer, table tennis, and badminton.
