Ed Sheeran surprises fan with an impromptu duet

Just when you thought Ed Sheeran couldn’t get any sweeter, he goes and does something else to blow your mind.

Ed Sheeran was at a mall in Canada on Sunday when he heard someone singing his song, “Thinking Out Loud.” Being who he is, Sheeran walked out of the music store he was in and with a big smile on his face, walked on stage, gave the girl a hug and continued to sing the song with her.

The girl, 13-year-old Sydney Bourbeau, was performing at West Edmonton Mall, for the Edmonton Humane Society fundraiser through her music school, according to Edmonton Journal.

“I was like, should I stop? I didn’t want to stop, but I wanted to talk to him,” she said to the Journal. “This is, like, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

The President of Resonate Music School, Michael Cathrea, said the spontaneous duet helped raise about $10,500 for the society. They also did not plan the fundraiser around his concert in Edmonton, which was on Sunday.

“That’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He happened to be there, she’s singing his song..It was amazing that she was actually able to keep it together and finish,” he said. “It was a shock, as if she had seen a ghost.”

As for Bourbeau?

“I was so happy that he did that,” she said through her tears to the Journal. “It was incredible.”
