Colin O'Donoghue sings for his fans

Yesterday, Colin O’Donoghue, Captain Hook from Once Upon a Time, provided Fairy Tales III convention goers with an extemporaneous musical surprise.

In addition to acting, O’Donoghue also plays guitar professionally. In 2003, he co-founded The Enemies, an Irish pop/rock band. Evidently one of the fans at Fairy Tales III knew about his musical talent, because she brought a guitar with her for him to autograph.

The guitar was conveniently presented to O’Donoghue at one of the question/answer sessions so that he had it on stage with him. He seemed a bit perplexed, but that soon gave way to shock as the fan requested that he sing for them, and then sign the guitar, of course. As he began playing, he insisted on not singing. However, under audience pressure he agreed to sing just one verse.

For his impromptu performance, O’Donoghue chose “All Right Now” by the classic rock group Free. For a primetime actor, he seemed unduly shy, but his co-stars helped him out with that. Jennifer Morrison (Emma) and Meghan Ory (Ruby/Red) stole some of the limelight when they got up and danced. This snippet is definitely worth watching!
