Chris Pratt confirms 'Jurassic World' sequel

If you’ve already seen Jurassic World you may be happy to hear that the star, Chris Pratt, has already signed on to do a sequel.

“They have me for I think 38 movies or something,” Pratt joked to Entertainment Weekly, then confirmed that he is signed on for a second film. The interview is the second of the two he did for the magazine, 10 months after the original interview.

Pratt said that when the film was pitched to him by director Colin Trevorrow, he was sold because, “it explores our relationship with science and our society today and how it’s different from what it was in the ’90s,” he said. “We’re not impressed by sh-t anymore. We have the most astounding sh-t happening all around us and no one cares. We’re so bored.”

Pratt was impressed by the film’s real life-ness of the park, and how attendance was falling off due to the fact that people just weren’t fascinated anymore.

“So when we pick up on our movie, it’s not this exciting park that no one can believe,” Pratt said. “Kids are bored with them. Instead of being mesmerized by a T. rex, they’re at the park and they’re looking at their iPhones.”

Despite professional reviews, a sequel is almost necessary after how well the film has done in just one day. Jurassic World had the third highest debut with $82.3 million, behind Avengers: Age of Ultron ($84 million) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($91 million), according to Business Insider/.
