After this Monday’s episode of the Bachelorette, social media has blown up about Kaityln Bristowe’s controversial decision to sleep with contestant Nick Viall. Yet among all the backlash, at least she still has Chris Harrison on her side.
After the episode aired, Bristowe tried to stand by her decision. She defended herself on ABC News when asked if she regretted her choice.
“I am a very in the moment person and I tried to just separate each relationship, and they all move at different paces. And that one definitely moved a little quicker than others and maybe the timing wasn’t ideal on that one.”
Bristowe confessed to E! News that she was dealing with a lot of disapproval from Bachelorette fans.
“It’s obviously tough when you get to a thousand and thousands of messages that are very negative, but I just try to avoid it.”
Chris Harrison chose to stand by Bristowe and set the record straight. He told E! News,
“I think if you just go by social media, obviously, the negative idiots are the loudest. People who care or are positive usually aren’t going on and ranting on social media. It always seems a lot worse than it is. I think the majority are either behind her or honestly aren’t that appalled or that amazed by it all. So I think you need to be careful where you’re taking your Litmus test or temperature of America.”
Harrison says that sex happens sometimes before the fantasy suite, but it isn’t the typical case. “But you know what? So be it.”
