Ariana Grande slams gender double standard in new Twitter post

Singer Ariana Grande wants the world to know she is sick of the double standard between men and women.

The 21-year-old posted an image on Twitter on Sunday with quotes from a recent interview she did with The Sun, in which she said, "A girl can be friends with someone with a d--k and not hop on it."

This was in response to rumors swirling around her and One Direction’s Niall Horan after she was spotted leaving his house in the early hours of the morning, according to Mirror.

“I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION,” the post read. “I...do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you.”

The “Problem” singer added, “I have clearly not been having the boy questions in my interviews lately because I have come to the realization that I have SO. MUCH. MORE. to talk about."

Ariana said she does not always need to be linked to a guy. She is nobody's ex and no one's future girlfriend, she is herself, according to People

Ariana said she comes from a “long bloodline of female activists,” even saying her Aunt was the “first Italian American female president of the national press club in Washington, DC.”
