Tim Meadows joins the Lonely Island film, now titled 'Conner4real'

A clout of mystery still reigns over the Judd Apatow-produced Lonely Island feature, although as production continues more details come to light. In addition to fellow SNL alum Tim Meadows now signed on to star, the film's official title was also revealed: Conner4real.

Meadows' casting and the film's title come from Deadline. He plays Harry, a very upbeat and overworked manager for a rapper (Andy Samberg) who, when his solo album tanks, must reunite with his former boy band members (Jorma Taccone, Akiva Shaffer) for a reunion tour. Meadows, in addition to the Lonely Island, also joins Sarah Silverman, who came on last week as Samberg's character's witty, sarcastic publicist.

Conner4real, briefly under the tentative title Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie, makes fun of PR-heavy, fluff musician-profile documentaries like Katy Perry: Part of Me and Justin Beiber: Never Say Never. Taccone, Shaffer and Samberg all wrote the screenplay and also join Apatow as producers, while Taccone and Shaffer direct. The film was first announced last August.

One of the longest running members in SNL's history, Meadows served as a series regular on the recently cancelled Marry Me, and also appears on The Goldbergs and Bob's Burgers. He can soon be seen in Trainwreck and Nigel & Oscar vs. The Sasquatch.
