Sam Smith is staying cool, calm and collected in light of his recent surgery today.
As we previously reported, the singer announced earlier this month he is undergoing surgery on his vocal chords after a small hemorrhage was discovered, causing him to cancel his Australian tour dates.
The singer has been keeping his fans updated on his surgery by posting pictures on his Instagram from his hospital bed, including a black and white selfie of Smith wearing his hospital gown and giving the camera a peace sign before heading into surgery.
The “Stay With Me” singer shared a picture of him post-surgery in a wheelchair wearing sunglasses accompanied by a nurse. He also posted a reassuring message to his fans on his Twitter saying, "Just woken up from op. I'm high on pain killers and listening to Whitney Houston hahahahaha."
According to E Online, the Grammy winner explained what his recovery process will entail via Instagram saying, “Enjoying my last day of speaking. After today no speaking for three weeks. So if you see me on the streets sorry if you think I'm a dickhead and can't say hello. Also gonna be silent for my birthday. Sounds fun aye?"
Smith’s doctors believe that he will be back to singing in 6-8 weeks.
