'CSI: Cyber' recap: 'Click Your Poison'

At the coffee shop, a man orders a coffee and appears to be ill. After bumping into a few people, he is in the middle of the street, very disoriented. Another man tries to tell him to get out of the street, but he's too late and the man is hit and killed.

Ryan goes to view Carl Bruno's autopsy. She is shows a prescription bottle Carl bought from JPBPharmacy.com and finds that callers have been calling about bad reactions to their drugs. They believe advertisements are luring users to JPBPharmacy.com. Carl's prescription was actually a placebo but did have a fungus and oxycodone, making users believe they were getting better. Ryan is convinced this is a homicide.

Advertisements were used to lure users into believing they have more serious symptoms, eventually leading them to JPB's website.

Ryan and Simon get together to try and figure out they type of person involved. Mrs. Bruno, Carl's wife, shows up and she tells them that she is responsible for her husbands death because she was the one who bout the drugs for him. Due to her insurance no longer covering Carl's medicine, they went to the website to try and get his medicine for a reasonable price. She gives them paperwork she kept from the sale and they find a return zip code, but not a full address.

Krumitz and Nelson must look through over 500 IP addresses to find the machine that shipped the package. They manage to eliminate the IP addresses that weren't involved and get an address.

In Texas, Ryan and Mundo go to the address. Inside they find numerous packages for JPB and a man, Paul, watching TV. He tells them that he is only a middle man and took the job because he too wanted the drugs for his cancer. He is in denial when they tell him that the drugs are not working. He tells them he met the buyer in a chat room. He gets sealed packages and is only supposed to stamp and ship them. He breaks down after finding out Carl died. He goes to the restroom and after hearing a thud, Ryan and Mundo find him on the floor with his wrist cut.

Paul is taken to the hospital. Ryan believes their target is a sociopath who lacks any emotion. They decide to look through Paul's phone to see if they can get any information. They track the GPS over the phone and find where he went to pick up the drugs.

Sifter heads to the owner of scrollmd.com where the ad for JPB was found. Marcus can't believe they were hacked and is a little bitter about it. Simon tells him to take down the ads and to issue an apology to Mrs. Bruno and place a public warning on his site, but Marcus refuses to issue the warning, fearing what it might due to his site.

Ryan and Mundo look through traffic cameras where Paul made the pick-up. The target is using a special LED bulb that blocks his license plate from camera's and his face cannot be made out. Mundo sees a white box that is used to pick up Bluetooth signals to report traffic patterns. They can use it to get the VIN # of the car.

Krumitz and Nelson try to track the VIN# while Simon sees Mrs. Bruno on the news, warning people about scrollmd.com. Krumitz gets a hit on the VIN#. Simon calls Nelson for a assignment. Simon then calls Ryan to tell her that the VIN# led them to Randall Fung.

Ryan and Mundo head to Randall's location. The house is empty but they hear a crash in the barn house and find Randall and his lab. Ryan sees that he's only the chemist and not the one hacking advertisements. They arrest him and continue their search for who really is in charge.

Marcus confronts Simon about his website being shut down. Simon warns him about doing the right thing or else his life is ruined.

Krumitz and Nelson search through Randall's computers. They find that Randall has been playing a online poker game the same day every week at the same time, but he wasn't playing a game, he was receiving his payment from the hacker.

Simon and Ryan talk about how h is losing trust in getting the right medications. They also find that the hacker is expanding his business and is looking for a bigger payday. Ryan believed the hacker is hiding in plain sight, not drawing too much attention to himself. They believe he is a male in his 20's to 40's who wears dark sunglasses. Ryan asks Simon for $250,000 for a poker game.

They're going to try and lure in their target on the poker gaming site he uses. They buy the drugs on JPB and then go into the poker site and find him at table 26. The hacker is sending the money to himself on a different user name and continues the bidding, eventually dividing the money, making it harder to track. He continues to do this, using an algorithm and eventually cashing out with username Hydrus99. Krumitz is blocked from seeing where the money is going and tries to hack in. He tries to hack it but it's too late.

Nelson finds that they may still be able to catch him by planting a bug in the line of communication through two different zones. The virus works and they manage to get the account information.

They head to the bank the next day where the hacker goes to cash out. He tries to get away and makes it outside but Ryan knocks him out and Mundo arrests him.

While celebrating their catch, Simon sees Marcus on the news, issuing a public warning about following the advertisements on his site, happy to see him doing the right thing.
