Kevin Hart partnered with the United Negro College Fund to give four lucky high school students in his hometown of Philadelphia $50,000 scholarships.
"This is me stepping up to the plate and saying what you're doing is dope," The Get Hard actor said. "You're dope. You've got the opportunity to be the dopest of all dopetivity.”
The 35-year-old comedian choose the scholarship recipients because of their high GPAs and need for financial aid to get through higher education, Philly.com reports.
Hart joked to Entertainment Tonight that his money will now be put to better use.
"My money went to a much much more useful cause I guess you would say than what I would have been doing with it at a strip club," Hart said.
Scholarships aren’t the only thing the students received. They will also get to go to Atlanta for UNCF Evening of Stars event, Entertainment Tonight notes.
UNCF Evening of Stars, which will be hosted by Blackish star Anthony Anderson, airs April 26 on BET.
