Waka Flocka Flame appeared on CNN to discuss his reaction to the video of members of a fraternity at the University of Oklahoma singing a racist song.
According to CNN, Waka was scheduled to perform at the university for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon release of the video of fraternity members singing about not letting blacks join the organization, Waka announced that he was cancelling his appearance.
XXL reports that while speaking with political correspondent Brianna Keilar Waka said he felt betrayed by the group because he bonded with them at a concert he had at the university last year.
“I knew those kids,” said Flocka. ”I performed for those kids. They made me feel like a brother. Just to see what a person does behind closed doors is more disgusting than [hurtful].”
Waka added that he doens't fully blame the students because the song may have been a part of tradition for SAE and believes everyone responsible should be held accountable for their actions.
University President David Boren has already taken action by cutting ties with the fraternity and expelling two students identified in the video.
