Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry shared his thoughts about who should be named the league MVP.
SportingNews reports that during an interview with Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show Curry was asked if given the chance to vote for MVP who would he choose. Curry said that if he couldn't vote for himself or teammate Klay Thompson then he would pick Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.
"If I can’t vote for myself or Klay... I’d probably vote for LeBron," said Curry. "He’s obviously one of the most talented guys on the face of the planet. He’s having a pretty good year."
Curry has been considered by many as a leading candidate for MVP as the Warriors sit atop the tough Western Conference with the best record in the league. Curry's 23.5 points and 7.8 assists per game along with his 48 percent shooting from the field have been a large part of the team's success.
James has lead the Cavaliers from a rough start to a strong finish as the team looks to be entering the postseason as the two sead in the East. The four-time MVP winner's ability to score and run the offense has been pivotal for Cleveland as the Cavaliers have gone 2-9 in games without James. If James were to win the MVP award this year, it would tie him with Michael Jordan and Bill Russell for second most all time.
Other names being considered for MVP include Houston Rockets guard James Harden, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, and New Orleans Pelicans guard Anthony Davis.
