Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is known for being close with his teammates, but says he doesn't have many friends in the NBA.
With his felow Cavalier Kevin Love saying that they're not best friends and he wouldn't vote for him for MVP, a lot has been made about James' relationship with his teammate. According to Cleveland.com, James said that there are only three players in the league he considers close friends.
"People get so infatuated with the best of friends, things of that nature," James said. "First of all, I've got three very good friends in this league, and that's Carmelo (Anthony), and that's C.P. (Chris Paul), and that's D-Wade."
James has history with each man he named a good friend. He and Anthony entered the league together in 2003 while Paul inspired James to join the Players' Union. Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and James were teammates for four years and won two championships while appearing in four straight NBA Finals.
James said that after those three he considers everyone else just teammates that he supports every day. James also said that he understands the importance of Love and Kyrie Irving to the team. James added that he and Love aren't concerned about becoming close off the court but are focusing on winning a championship.
The Cavaliers will be in contenion for a title once the playoffs begin as they sit at the two seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 48-27.
