John Wall and Demarcus Cousins say their Kentucky team is the best ever

Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Sacramento Kings center Demarcus Cousins said their Kentucky team was better than the current one.

Wall told CNSWashington that despite the current team's unbeaten record he thinks his 2009-10 Kentucky squad is still the best the school has ever seen. Wall added that the potential of going undefeated and winning the National Championship would be the only thing seperating the two teams.

"We were a better team, but we didn't win," Wall said. "They're going to have the leverage because they went 40-0 and got a national championship to back it up."

ProBasketballTalk reports that Wall's former Kentucky teammate Demarcus Cousins supported these comments and added that he's hopeful that the team can pull off a perfect season. In 2010, Cousins' and Wall's Kentucky team entered the NCAA tournament as a one seed but lost to West Virginia in the Elite 8. That team went on to have five players selected in the first round of the draft.

This year's Kentucky Wildcats could make history as the first team to finish a season undefeated and win a national championship since Indiana in 1976. Kentucky enters the NCAA tournament as the #1 overall seed with a record of 34-0.
