'Empire' star Taraji P. Henson to make hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in April

Set your calendars. Empire star Taraji P. Henson will be hosting Saturday Night Live next month.

Fans of Empire, who are having a hard time accepting that they can’t see Henson every Wednesday since the first season wrapped on March 17, can rest assure. In just a few weeks, Henson will be back on our TV screens.

SNL announced Thursday that Henson, who plays Cookie on Fox’s Empire, will be making her hosting debut on April 11, Huffington Post reports. The musical guest that night will be Mumford & Sons.

Henson’s TV son Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon alongside her on Empire, took to his Instagram page to congratulate Henson. “DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!!!!!!” Smollett wrote.

Before Henson takes the SNL stage Michael “Birdman” Keating will return for his third hosting gig with musical guest Carly Rae Jepson making her musical guest debut, Time notes.

NBC’s long-running sketch series resumes season 40 this weekend with host Dwayne Johnson and musical guest George Ezra.
