You can find in New York a lot of places for good seafood and steak. Our new favorite place goes the extra mile to ensure your pleasant dining experience. Village Prime, located on Bleeker Street in downtown Manhattan, has everything you expect from a fine dining restaurant and more.
Their attention to detail and the pride in their work is evident the moment you walk through the door and take your seat. On our recent visit, the general manager was demonstrating to the hostess how to properly sweep the rug by the front door. Excessive? Maybe, but it showed us that at Village Prime everything must be perfect.
Perfection continued at our table where the candles and empty water glasses were precisely aligned on each table so as to form a perfect line five tables down. The silverware, dishes and stemware were all shiny and spotless. All these details came together to create a special ambiance and prepped us for the rest of the evening.
The service was remarkable as the staff knew exactly where each menu item came from. That bread? From a bakery in Brooklyn? Those tomatoes? From a farm in Long Island.
Our waiter, Derrick, was probably the best waiter we've ever had. He knew the menu and wine list backward and forward, was smart in his recommendations, and expertly paired wines with food. We put ourselves in Derrick's hands and absolutely enjoyed our meal.
Village Prime's attention to detail and pride carries over into the Executive Chef Rory O'Farrell's kitchen. The plates that came out were exquisite in their preparation for the eyes and the palate. When our servers placed the plates on the table, the plates never touched and were always turned so as to present in the most visually stunning way possible. It's absolutely impossible to walk out of there without taking at least one picture of the food!
Village Prime is open weekly for lunch, dinner, and brunch on weekends.
