Clive Owen heads to Broadway in September

Actor Clive Owen is continuing to take his career in new directions. The Oscar nominee has signed on to make his Broadway debut in September.

The star of Cinemax’s The Knick will star in the Roundabout Theatre’s revival of Old Times by Nobel winner Harold Pinter. He will play Deeley, who is excited about meeting Anna, friend of his wife’s for the first time in awhile. However, the meeting takes a dramatic shift as the night goes on.

Douglas Hodge, who stars in Showtime’s Penny Dreadful and has done several productions of Pinter’s work, will direct.

The rest of the cast will be announced later.

While Owen has not performed on Broadway before, USA Today notes that he did star in Patrick Marber’s Closer in London. He also starred in Mike Nichols’ film version, which earned him an Oscar nomination.

Owen made a comeback last year by taking his career to television and starring in The Knick, which was picked up for another season.
