'Chasing Life' Recap: 'No News Is Bad News'

On this week's episode of Chasing Life, Raquel is named the new editor-in-chief of The Post, April and Danny compete with each other to break the best stories, and Brenna tries to convince Sara to let Greer move in with the Carvers until graduation when her parents get separated.

April and Leo wake up together in his apartment and April shares her worries about finding out who the paper's new editor-in-chief is. At the same time, Leo mentions that his mom is interested in getting to know her better and asks if she'd be willing to spend some time with her. April seems to love the idea.

At work, a staff meeting reveals that Raquel is elected as the paper's new editor-in-chief. Determined to pick up the slack, Raquel discusses better strategies for getting stories before competitors, reminding everyone not to rest on their laurels. April talks to Raquel after the meeting, admitting she felt directly targeted by her speech. Raquel says she's going to stay hard on April to help her, since things have been different following April's return from medical leave.

Back at the Carver house, Emma and her boyfriend, Sam play cards, while Sara complains about the rental rate being raised on Tom's storage locker. Emma fills her Sam in on Tom's deep, dark secrets and offers to accompany Sara to the locker to potentially get rid of some of the old belongings.

At The Charles, Beth vents to April and Leo about Graham. April announces a trip she's planned for them to take in a few weeks as a way to keep Beth's mind off of Graham and Beth jumps at the idea. They also share a brief encounter with Natalie.

The next morning, April mentions work pressures and plans with Leo's family during breakfast, while Brenna and Greer trade PDA. Sara questions Greer about her family situation and Brenna doesn't appreciate her mother being intrusive. Sara dismisses Brenna, saying she feels like she's keeping Greer from her parents in a way and wants them to know that they are free to discuss Greer's current living situation with her over the phone.

At work, Danny fills April in on happenings around the office, including a new story he broke. A little while later, April seeks out Raquel, and Raquel claims that April "got soft" and "changed" following her leave of absence at the paper. Raquel also questions what things April will give up in order to ensure success. April promises she'll get Raquel more headlines, though Raquel seems a bit skeptical. Afterwards, April shuts down a conversation with Danny when he starts to brag about the story he broke.

Meanwhile, Sara and Emma visit Tom's storage unit and Sara finds some of George's belongings there. Emma questions whether or not Sara's spoken to George since his big move, but Sara claims she's kept her distance, because it's for the best. Later, Sara finds childhood books of Natalie's and wonders if she should contact her.

Back at work, Danny continues to annoy April as he racks up story after story.

At Dominic's apartment, Natalie suggests she and Dominic make their relationship public to April and practice breaking the news. When Dominic's attempts fall flat, Natalie agrees to handle it.

Back at the Carver house, Greer tells Brenna her parents are separating and her dad asked if she wants to move to their Nantucket house with him. Brenna doesn't want Greer to uproot her entire life and shake up their relationship, so she says she's going to ask her mom if Greer can move in with them more permanently.

At work, April's frustration with Danny reaches a new high after he steals a story she's been working on. April left the story up on her WordPress site while she went to go get Danny coffee as a peace offering, and his sneaky stunt causes her to backpedal on her apology. Later, April and Danny discuss other stories they're writing in the elevator, and a text alert reveals Danny's intention to steal another story of April's. Their competition gets heated when they both decide to return to work rather than leave. At the same time, April has to call Leo and re-schedule the get-together they planned with his parents.

At the Carver house, Brenna tries to sweet talk Sara into letting Greer move in until graduation by making her a nice dinner, though Sara isn't one hundred percent sold on the idea.

Meanwhile, April says she's tired and decides to take off. She beats Danny at getting a story, evening out the score a little, and a fight ensues between the friends.

The next morning, Greer and Brenna talk about Greer's parents separation and living arrangements. April annoys Brenna when she notes that Greer doesn't seem totally opposed to moving with her dad to Nantucket and Brenna retorts that April doesn't know what she's talking about.

At the same time, Sara meets up with Natalie at the storage unit, so she can be there for moral support while she sifts through Tom's old things. Later, Sara tells Brenna Dr. Hamburg wants to talk to her.

April tries to calm down Beth when Beth panics while she tries to relax at a nail salon. April can't leave work, because Raquel is so strict and asks Beth if anyone else can keep her company. Leo shows up and saves the day and the two complain about Graham until Beth feels better.

At the hospital, Dr. Hamburg tells Brenna about an anonymous patient reaching out to her for a bone marrow donation. Brenna is eager to help, despite the invasive nature of the procedure and her mother's pleas to think over her decision more fully.

Later, Leo stops by The Post to bring April food and update her on Beth. April can't leave work until she breaks a story and must bail on drinks with her step-sister, Natalie, so her tally stays even with Danny. Leo says that constantly having to win seems exhausting.

Brenna and Greer shop online and discuss Greer never living with her parents again. Brenna confesses that Sara shot down their idea of Greer moving in and Greer seems disappointed.

April prepares to leave for work and is stopped by Raquel, who chides her for seemingly shirking her responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Emma and Sara discuss George again and Sara brings up a talk he's giving in Cleveland. She's considering going since they've spoken and are in a better place. Emma seems happy that Sara's feeling better.

At the same time, April and Natalie go out for drinks and Natalie tells her that she and Dominic are seeing each other. A fight erupts between the two half-sisters, causing Natalie to leave before they even get a chance to hang out.

The next day, April confronts Raquel, since she wasn't pleased that April left early the previous evening. They talk about their differing views of achieving success and how April's sickness has altered her perspective on life.

Back at the Carver house, Brenna says goodbye to Greer.

Meanwhile, Sara arrives at George's talk in Cleveland and prepares to say hello when she sees him kissing another woman and April and Danny patch things up over drinks.

At the hospital, Dr. Hamburg is on her way out of the office when she's stopped by another doctor who hands her a patient file, saying that the patient's numbers don't look too good. Dr. Hamburg seems stressed, but a few moments later, she calls April and reminds her about their follow-up appointment.
