Ansel Elgort has proven he is quite the romantic guy on screen, but now he's proving he's just as romantic off-screen too!
Elgort opened up in the April 2015 issue of Seventeen magazine where he discussed his relationship with his co-star in both The Fault in Our Stars and The Divergent Series and the types of romantic dates he enjoys going on.
"If a woman is really pretty, it’s kind of hard," Elgort told the magazine of remaining friends with a girl who is attractive. "I’m not going to lie." The 20-year-old actor was quick to correct himself by naming one special and very famous lady in his life that is the exception to that rule, his co-star Shailene Woodley. She plays his sister in The Divergent Series and played his love interest in The Fault In Our Stars. "Actually, that’s not true. Me and Shailene have a really platonic relationship. I’ve never once wanted her sexually, which is nice.”
The actor has been dating his high school sweetheart, Violetta Komysha for the past few years and he admits he isn't shy to make date nights very romantic. "Going on a long walk in Central Park and then taking the subway downtown and going out to eat and ordering oysters," the native New Yorker said of a picture-perfect date. Elgort and Komysha split back in August 2014 due to his hectic schedule to promote his films, but they recently got back together in January 2015.
He continued gushing about his romantic side saying, "I love doing romantic s---." Elgort described romantic dates as "fun" because it's like "living in a movie."
Elgort is currently on a press tour promoting the latest installment of The Divergent Series: Insurgent which hits theaters on March 20th, 2015.
