Dallas Mavericks center Amar'e Stoudemire was not happy with the way his team played on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to ABC News, Stoudemire was upset after a 127-94 loss to the Cavaliers at home. Stoudemire, who had 15 points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes, was adamant that the way Dallas has played over the last few weeks is not going to help him reach his goal with the team.
"I came here to win," he told reporters, "and we're 4.5 games out of being out of the playoffs, which is unacceptable. This is something we can't accept. We've got to find a way to refocus."
Dallas was considered by many to be a contender to reach the NBA Finals but has recently regressed. Since Stoudemire joined the Mavericks after agreeing to a buyout with the New York Knicks, the team has gone 5-6 in its last 11 games and has lost by at least 15 points three times in the past week.
Complex reports that Stoudemire thinks the team needs a new approach to practice and games as they can't mess around when playing on the highest level.
As of now, the Mavericks are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a record of 41-25.
