With each day, the cast to Warner Bros.' upcoming DC adaptation Suicide Squad gets bigger. This continues today as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje joins the anti-superhero movie as Killer Croc.
The Wrap revealed the casting news. This decision is particular interesting to some as it means Akinnuoye-Agbaje jumps from the Marvel ship to DC, as the actor previously starred in Thor: The Dark World. It also means he reunites with Will Smith, who plays Deadshot, as they both starred in the upcoming Concussion, set to be released Christmas day.
In addition to Smith, Akinnuoye-Agbaje also joins Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Jay Hernandez and Karen Fukuhara. Also recently signed on to the David Ayer-directed film were Scott Eastwood and Ray Olubowale, who joined the film yesterday in undisclosed roles. There are also rumors Jesse Eisenberg stars as Lex Luther, a role he also plays in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Production on Suicide Squad begins this April for its August 5, 2016 release.
Killer Croc, whose real name is Waylon Jones, is among Batman's series of villains. He first appeared in the comic in 1983.
Along with Concussion, Akinnuoye-Agbaje also soon stars in Trumbo and the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. He also lends his talents to Bilal and the TV series American Odyssey. He was last seen in Annie.
