'12 Years a Slave' director Steve McQueen helms music video for Kanye West's 'All Day'

Kanye West continues to prove his stance in not just the music world, but entertainment in general. So it should come to zero surprise he got one of the most acclaimed directors of the moment, Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave), to make the music video from one of his tracks on his upcoming album, So Help Me God.

During an Oxford lecture, The Fader reported that the musician has his upcoming music video for "All Day 2" shot by McQueen.

As he commented, "He shot the visuals for 'All Day 2' days ago, it's completely different to the Brit Awards."

Other than this, there's no word exactly on what the video entails or why McQueen choose to make it. The filmmaker and the musician do have a history, however, as McQueen interviewed the Yeezus creator a year ago. They spoke at length on West and his character, and it's not surprising to think a kinship was formed from their personal talk.

It was just a couple days ago that West revealed the title of his new album. There's still no word, however, on when the album plans to be released.

There is, however, a music video from the album created and released already for "Only One" directed by Spike Jonze (Her).

McQueen, meanwhile, has a variety of other projects in the works at the moment. Those include a Paul Robeson biopic, an adaptation of the U.K. series Widows and the HBO series Codes of Conduct.
