Most people have heard of the soft drink that attributes its great taste to a unique mixture of 23 flavors, Dr. Pepper. Some, such as 104 year old Elizabeth Sullivan, claim it's "Vim, Vigor, Vitality" add from decades ago has some truth to it.
It’s not just popular with the laymen, though. There are plenty of celebrities who enjoy it, including Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), pictured here, Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy), Nicole Richie (The Simple Life), Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls), AnnaLynne McCord (Nip/Tuck), and Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars).
Created in the late 1880s by pharmacist Charles Alderton, Dr. Pepper has been considered by some as a valuable addition to their diet due to the inaccurate supposition that it includes prune juice as one of its 23 ingredients.
Despite arguments for or against its nutritional value, one woman maintains it has kept her alive and well for the over 40 years she’s been drinking it. Sullivan just celebrated her 104th birthday with a Dr. Pepper, and according to Fox News insider, also had a Dr. Pepper shaped cake, and a Dr. Pepper gift box from the soft drink company’s CEO, Larry Young.

CBSDFW shared that Sullivan drinks three Dr. Pepper’s everyday, and quoted her as saying, “Every doctor that sees me says they’ll kill you, but they die and I don’t. So there must be a mistake somewhere.” She later added, “Man I’m feeling good. I’m glad I’m still here. I’m glad I’m not in a rest home. Glad I can read books and watch TV and have people come by and say hello.”
She’s not the only one who’s glad. ABC News reported that Chris Barnes, director of corporate communications for Dr. Pepper, had this to say about Young’s gift box to her, “We wanted to thank her for being such a big fan of the brand and making us a part of her daily life” and “We were happy to be a part of her day and make that special and wish her many more.”
