Vince Vaugh discussed details from the upcoming season of True Detective in an interview with Playboy.
According to Rolling Stone, Vaughn said the tone of the second season will differ from the first. He added that moving the location from Louisiana to California has played a big part in that change and that most of the season takes place in Los Angeles.
Vaughn described his character, Frank Semyon, as the owner of a criminal empire who's in danger of losing it all after the murder of a business partner. Vaughn said that he and co-star Colin Farrell don't feel pressured to live up to the acclaimed performances of Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey because of the writing of series creator Nic Pizzolatto, reports Variety.
"Nic is so great about investigating characters and their complexities in an authentic and engaging way," he said. "I want to watch this show not because I'm in, it but as a fan of the material."
The second season of True Detective is set to premier sometime later this year.
