The cast for the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars was announced this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America. The most surprising news wasn’t the cast, though, since a professional dancer is making a shocking return.
Derek Hough will actually be participating. Last month, Hough said that he wouldn’t be able to do it, since he’s participating in the New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in March. However, he said on GMA this morning that he couldn’t bear to leave the show.
“This all happened literally two days ago,” Hough said. “I had a little heartbreak not being able to part of the 20th season. I'm so glad we were able to make it happen. Let's make it the best season ever.”
Hough, who has won the mirror ball trophy five times already, will be paired with Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin.
TV icon Suzanne Somers, singer Patti LaBelle and Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an NFL team, will all participate this season. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter, actress Rumer Willis, will dance, along with The Hunger Games’ Willow Shields. LMFAO member Redfoo and R5’s Riker Lynch are also competing.
There are two competitors who aren’t exactly stars yet. Army veteran Noah Galloway, who lost his left arm and left leg while serving in Iraq, will compete. Charlotte McKinney, the model who starred in Carl’s Jr.’s Super Bowl commercial, is also in the cast.
A final celebrity will be announced on March 16. The show will be returning that same day, at 8 p.m.
Here’s the dancing pairs:
Noah Galloway with Sharna Burgess
Robert Herjavec with Kym Johnson
Patti LaBelle with Artem Chigvintsev

Charlotte McKinney with Keo Motsepe
