Screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber may have to officially call themselves "John Green adapters" at this point, as the 500 Days of Summer screenwriters have gone from penning The Fault in Our Stars to this summer's Paper Towns and now Looking For Alaska. If that weren't enough, Fault producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are also returning to the Green honeypot with this new film.
This third reunion of sorts originally was reported by The Hollywood Reporter. What's most interesting about this article is how it makes no note of Sarah Polley's involvement, who was tapped to write and direct the film since this summer.
Regardless of whether or not Polley is still involved, the film is moving forward with a release date next year being very likely. Green's debut and award-winning novel, Looking For Alaska centers on teenager Miles who attends a boarding school his junior year where he meets the enigmatic teenager Alaska who he begins falling for.
This is just one of multiple projects the screenwriters have in the works. Another includes an adaptation of Where'd You Go, Bernadette, to be directed by Boyhood director Richard Linklater.
Paper Towns comes to theaters on June 5.
