Darren Criss heads back to Broadway for 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch'

The current Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch continues to reel in big stars for its title role. The next star to lead the show will be Glee’s Darren Criss.

Criss will take over the part of Hedwig from John Cameron Mitchell, who originated the role during its first run and wrote the book. According to Variety, Mitchell will play Hedwig from Feb. 24 to April 26 and Criss will step in on April 29 for 12 weeks.

Neil Patrick Harris won a Tony for playing Hedwig when the production started. Andrew Rannells and Michael C. Hall also played the role. Hall will be back on Feb. 17 through Feb. 21.

This is not Criss’ first run on the Great White Way. He previously starred in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, taking over for Daniel Radcliffe.

Criss starred on Glee during its entire run. The series ends on Fox on March 20.
