'Chasing Life' Recap: 'Model Behavior'

On this week's episode of Chasing Life, April faces backlash following the publication of her article on Richie Miranda, Greer's behavior continues to be "off" following her decision to stop taking her meds, and April fears that her cancer may have returned.

April encounters a difficult vendor who refuses to sell her coffee when he recognizes her as having written the drug expose on Richie Miranda. April tries to reason with the vendor, but he won't budge. She says she's going to file a complaint. At work, when April discusses the repercussions of publishing her article, Dominic asks her if she regrets her decision. April says she doesn't.

Meanwhile, Brenna and Greer talk about Greer's decision to go off her anti-anxiety and depression meds over lunch. Greer also surprises Brenna with an expensive purse she'd been eyeing in Florida.

April meets up with Beth while Beth's at work. Beth laments her new job as a personal assistant and also asks April if she's spoken to Leo following their fight. April realizes Leo has become a different person since his surgery and she thinks she might be, too.

Later, at the Carver house, April's grandma, Emma has returned from her reunion and evades questions about the gathering. Sara seems worried about Emma's strange, new behavior.

The next morning, April watches a news cast about Richie Miranda on television at work. During the news cast, Richie is quoted as being embarrassed by April's slanderous accusations and assures his fans that he hasn't used any drugs since leaving rehab. April panics once she sees the news cast and tries to get a meeting with her boss, Aaron, but he's unavailable to talk. When Danny asks April if she has a source to corroborate her story, she struggles to keep quiet about Leo.

Later, April wonders whether she should mention Leo if it becomes a necessity and helps Beth with a new project for work--a modeling gig for teens. Beth and April recruit Brenna to help and Brenna asks if she can invite Greer. It takes some bargaining, but eventually they all come to an agreement. Brenna reminds April that she initially kept April's cancer a secret from their mother, so April agrees not to tell Sara that Brenna and Greer are hanging out again.

At work, Sara encounters the psychiatrist whose office is next to hers once again. He updates her on a client she tried to help and invites her to attend a talk at Harvard.

At work, April's predicament deepens when the publisher of the paper requests to see her. The publisher says that Richie passed his drug test and April's piece should never have been allowed to run in the paper. Because of her actions, April runs the risk of being fired and The Post is going to be sued. The publisher also says she's fired Aaron. The Post could print a retraction, but if that were to happen, then April would be fired. April suggests defending herself during an on-camera interview, and the publisher reluctantly agrees to the proposition. When April tells Danny about her sticky situation, he advises her to go to Raquel, because she has a lot of experience in handling the news media. April lets Raquel know what her situation is and Raquel says she will coach her for her on-camera interview.

Meanwhile, Brenna is less-than-thrilled to participate in Beth's boss' fashion show when she gets a taste of the clothing and Beth is freaked out when she realizes she didn't order any food to serve at the event.

Later, Sara tries--and fails--to distract April from her work problems and her situation with Leo by having a movie night. Sara tells April to go easy on Leo, since she's sort of counseling him, prompting April to go to bed somewhat annoyed. Meanwhile, Sara's fears about her mother, Emma come to fruition when she catches her sneaking in during the middle of the night. Sara thinks Emma's developing Alzheimer's, but in reality, Emma has a new boyfriend.

The next day, Raquel coaches April on how to approach her interview and the process is grueling. April must nail the interview or her career as a journalist will be over.

At work, Sara jumps the gun, when a fellow psychiatrist invites her to a talk at Harvard and says she's not interested in being "more than friends." When she returns home, she meets Sam, Emma's new boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Graham saves Beth's fashion show by supplying the food and April expresses her concern about her interview to Brenna. At the same time, Greer's decision to stop taking her anti-anxiety and depression drugs continues to spiral and she accidentally rips the dress she's supposed to model.

Back at the Carver house, Emma tells Sara that she kept her relationship with Sam a secret because of Sara's recent mishap with George. Emma says she didn't want to rub her new relationship in Sara's face, so that's why she initially kept it private.

Back at the fashion show, Brenna confesses Greer's secret to April and April worries that Brenna is being dragged into Greer's problems. Brenna argues that she isn't going to give up on Greer as easily as April gave up on Leo. Later, Beth worries that her boss will be upset with as a result of Greer's meltdown, but Beth is promoted, because the fashion show was a success.

Meanwhile, Brenna admits she's worried about Greer when Greer apologizes for her behavior. Greer also finds it hard to be around Brenna when they're no longer a couple. Brenna still wants to hang out with Greer, but emphasizes that they should just remain friends for the time being.

The next morning, April apologizes to Brenna for implying that Greer is dragging her down and says Leo is going through something similar. Brenna thinks they've both chosen "head cases" as significant others. Brenna also thinks that April is worrying too much about her interview when she's lived through cancer.

At work, Sara is rearranging her office when the psychiatrist next door asks if she's ready to leave for the Harvard talk. He understands Sara just wants to be friends, but this doesn't last for long, when Sara moves in for a kiss.

Later, April films her on-camer interview to save her job. When she goes the bathroom afterwards, her nose begins to bleed and she fears her cancer is back. After April returns from the bathroom, she's visibly distracted and doesn't really hear Dominic tell her that Richie got arrested for a DUI. Dominic picks up on April's inattentiveness and that's when she tells him her fears about her cancer returning. Dominic pulls her into hug and April cries in his embrace.
