Celebrity Birthdays, February 7: Chris Rock, Ashton Kutcher and Steve Nash

Comedian Chris Rock, actor Ashton Kutcher and NBA player Steve Nash are all celebrating their birthdays today, February 7.

Chris Rock, 50

Comedian, actor, screenwriter, producer and director Chris Rock turns 50 today. In 1984, Rock began his career with stand-up comedy. Friend Eddie Murphy gave Rock his first film role in Beverly Hills Cop II. In 1990, Rock joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. In 1991, he released his first comedy album, Born Suspect and starred as a crack addict in the film New Jack City.

After leaving SNL and appearing in another sketch comedy series, In Living Color, Rock focused on his stand-up career. He received four HBO stand-up specials. His talk show, The Chris Rock Show, also aired on HBO and won an Emmy for its writing. Rock also won an Emmy for his fifth HBO stand-up special, Kill The Messenger, and has three Grammy winning comedy albums, Roll with the New, Bigger & Blacker and Never Scared.

Rock had supporting roles in the films Dogma, Beverly Hills Ninja and Lethal Weapon 4. He had starring roles in The Longest Yard, Bad Company, Death at a Funeral, Madagascar and Grown Ups. He also served as a writer and director of Head of State and I Think I Love My Wife.

In 2005, Rock served as the executive producer and narrator of the series Everybody Hates Chris. In 2006, the show earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best TV Series and two Emmy Awards for costuming and cinematography.

Rock has two daughters from his previous marriage to Malaak Compton.

Ashton Kutcher, 37

Actor, producer and former model Ashton Kutcher turns 37 today. Kutcher began his career as a model, signing with Next modeling agency in New York. He appeared in commercials for Calvin Klein and modeled in Paris and Milan. After moving to Los Angeles, Kutcher landed the role of Michael Kelso in the television series That '70s Show from 1998 to 2006.

Kutcher gained more fame with his role in the film Dude, Where's My Car?. He went on to star in Just Married, Guess Who, Cheaper By The Dozen, The Butterfly Effect, Killers, No Strings Attached and Jobs.

Kutcher produced and starred as the host in the MTV hidden camera series Punk'd. Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen in the CBS comedy series Two and a Half Men.

Kutcher is currently engaged to his That '70s Show co-star Mila Kunis. They have a daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, born October 2014.

Steve Nash, 41

Professional basketball player Steve Nash turns 41 today. Nash graduated from Santa Clara University and was selected as the 15th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. In 1998, Nash was traded to the Dallas Mavericks and was voted to his first NBA All-Star Game. He led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals in the 2002-03 season. After becoming a free agent, he went back to the Phoenix Suns.

Nash led the Suns to the Western Conference Finals in the 2004-05 season and was named the league's Most Valuable Player. In 2006, He was named the ninth greatest point guard of all time by ESPN. In 2000, Nash captained the Canada team at the Sydney Olympics. However, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals with a loss to France. In 2012, Nash became General Manager of the Canadian senior national team.

In July 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Nash in a sign-and-trade deal with Phoenix. Nash suffered a fracture in his left leg and was out for seven weeks. Upon his return, the Lakers broke their loosing streak. Nash became the fifth player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career assists.

In July 2014, Nash announced that the 2014–15 season would be his final season, but in October 2014, He was ruled out for the season due to a recurring back injury.

Nash has three children from his previous marriage to Alejandra Amarilla.
