Rapper Bobby Shmurda has spoken out for the first time from the confines of jail.
In an interview with Billboard, Shmurda talked about how the past few weeks have been for him. He denied rumors that he had been stabbed and said that outside of his lawyer and mother he has kept contact with fellow rappers Meek Mill, French Montana, and Migos. When asked about sending a message to his fans, Shmurda provided positive words.
"Everybody goes through tough times and good times. You know what, tough times don't last forever. I say, God makes his toughest battles for his strongest soldiers." Shmurda said.
Shmurda added that when he gets out of jail he plans on writing more hit songs and finish his deal with Epic Records.
Shmurda along with a half dozen others were arrested on Dec. 17 with multiple counts of conspiracy, weapons possession, reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. The New York Times reported that the $2 million bail set for the Brooklyn rapper had been withdrawn.
