Three terrorists, including Charlie Hebdo shooting suspects, killed in France

Three terrorists, including the two suspects in Wednesday’s mass killing at the Charlie Hebdo offices, have been killed during two separate hostage-taking incidents in France on Friday.

In the one incident at a warehouse in Dammartin-en-Goele, there were explosions heard, reports The BBC reports. There, brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi were holding at least one hostage. According to the AFP, police stormed the building and both brothers were killed. They are two of the three gunman police say shot and killed 12 people at the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. The third suspect turned himself in Wednesday night.

Two other suspects held hostages at a kosher supermarket in eastern Paris. Those suspects were identified as Amedy Coulibaly, 32, and Hayat Boumeddiene, 26.

According to CNN, police union spokesman Pascal Disand said that some police were injured in that incident. Coulibaly was killed, but NBC News reports that Boumeddiene is still on the loose. Reuters’ sources say that four hostages at the supermarket were killed.

The AFP posted pictures from the supermarket, showing police storming the store. The four hostages were reportedly killed before police moved in.

The Kouachi brothers were known to police, Reuters reports. They were born in France and are of Algerian descent. They were also on “no fly” lists in both Europe and the U.S. Reports have stated that the two and Coulibaly were linked to the same Islamist group.
