The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC announced the date for the 2016 Golden Globes, in case you already have your 2016 calendars out.
The Globes will take place on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016. Once again, it will air on the peacock network.
“We look forward to follow this year’s successful Golden Globe Awards by celebrating what looks like another exceptional year in both film and television,” Theo Kingma, president of the HFPA, said in a statement.
The HFPA will have a year to find a new host for the ceremony. After hosting two years in a row, Amy Poehler said that the 2015 ceremony will be the last time she and Tina Fey host it together. However, after another great performance, that news is probably disappointing to most.
“It's the law of diminishing returns, which is why this is our last time,” Poehler told the Today show in October 2014. “Unless you want to be a perennial host, there's nowhere to go but down!"
NBC said that this year’s ceremony drew a 5.8 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, along with 19.3 million viewers in total. This year’s winners included The Grand Budapest Hotel for Best Picture - Comedy/Musical and Boyhood for Best Picture - Drama. The Affair was Best TV SEries - Drama and Transparent took Best TV Series - Musical/Comedy.
