Actress and model Nina Dobrev turns 26 today. Dobrev has appeared in a number of feature films, including Fugitive Pieces, Away from Her, Never Cry Werewolf and the teen television series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
In 2010, Dobrev had a role in the erotic thriller Chloe. In 2012, she played Candace in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, alongside Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Paul Rudd and Ezra Miller.
In August 2014, she starred alongside Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. in the 20th Century Fox comedy Let's Be Cops.
Dobrev is currently starring in The CW's supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries, playing the role of Elena Gilbert, a girl loved by two vampire brothers, Damon and Stefan Salvatore.

Singer-songwriter, musician and actor Dave Matthews turns 48 today. Matthews, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band, focused primarily on songwriting and performances with the Dave Matthews Band from 1990 to 2003. The Dave Matthews Band opened for The Rolling Stones on their Bridges to Babylon Tour from 1997 to 1998, and Matthews sang "Wild Horses" and "Memory Motel" alongside vocalist Mick Jagger.
Matthews sang on the track "Sing Along" on Blue Man Group's second album The Complex in 2003. Later that year he released a solo album, "Some Devil," which went platinum. The single, "Gravedigger," won a Grammy Award in 2004.
Before the music, Matthews was an amateur actor, appearing onstage in several productions at Charlottesville's Offstage Theatre and Live Arts theater. In 2003, he starred in the film adaptation of the novel Where the Red Fern Grows. In 2005, he starred in Because of Winn-Dixie as Otis. In 2007, Matthews appeared briefly in two Adam Sandler movies, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and You Don't Mess with the Zohan. In 2011, he starred in the films The Other Side, In The Woods and Just Go With It.
Dave Matthews married longtime girlfriend Jennifer Ashley Harper in 2000. The couple has twin daughters, Stella Busina and Grace Anne, and a son, August Oliver.
