First Lady Michelle Obama, actress Zooey Deschanel and rapper Lil Jon are celebrating their birthdays today, January 16.

Michelle Obama, 51

Lawyer, writer and First Lady Michelle Obama turns 51 today. Obama attended Princeton University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and Harvard Law School where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree. After law school, Obama worked as an associate at the Sidley Austin law firm, where she met her future husband Barack Obama.

Obama continued to work as an Assistant to the Mayor of Chicago and Assistant Commissioner of Planning and Development. She went on to become the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago, and then went on to become the Executive Director for Community Affairs and Vice President for Community and External Affairs at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

Obama married Barrack in 1992 after meeting at the same law firm where they worked. They have two daughters, Malia and Natasha.

Obama helped her husband campaign for presidency and spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2008 and 2012. As First Lady, Obama created 'Let's Move,' an administration-wide initiative to reverse childhood obesity.

Zooey Deschanel, 35

Actress and singer-songwriter Zooey Deschanel turns 35 today. Deschanel made her film debut in the 1999 comedy Mumford. She went on to appear in the films Almost Famous, Big Trouble, The Good Girl, Elf, Failure to Launch, Bridge to Terabithia, Yes Man and The Happening.

In 2009, Deschanel starred in (500) Days of Summer alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film earned the Golden Globe nomination for Best Picture (Comedy or Musical). That same year, Deschanel guest starred on her sister's, Emily Deschanel, FOX series Bones. Deschanel Hosted Saturday Night Live in February 2012.

Deschanel is also known for her singing and has recorded music for many of her films. She is also in a music duo with M. Ward called She & Him.

Deschanel currently plays Jessica on the FOX comedy series New Girl. She is currently in a relationship with Jacob Pechenik and is expecting her first child.

Lil Jon, 44

Rapper, record producer, entrepreneur and DJ Lil Jon turns 44 today. Born Jonathan Smith, Lil Jon started working as a DJ for nightclubs in Atlanta. In 1997, he formed Lil Jon & the East Side Boys with Big Sam and Lil' Bo. The group signed with Mirror Image Records and released their debut album, Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album. Lil Jon started his own label, BME, and eventually released their second album We Still Crunk.

Lil Jon & the East Side Boys signed with TVT Records in 2001 and released Put Yo Hood Up which featured the track "Bia' Bia" featuring Ludacris, Too Short, Big Kapp and Chyna Whyte. As Little Jon & the East Side Boys, they went on to release Kings of Crunk and Crunk Juice. They also collaborated with the Ying Yang Twins for "Get Low" and with Usher and Ludacris for "Lovers & Friends."

Lil Jon went on to produce "Salt Shaker" by the Ying Yang Twins, "Yeah!" by Usher and "Freek-a-Leek" by Petey Pablo. In 2011, Lil Jon took part in Celebrity Apprentice, where he was eliminated in the final four. In 2013, he partnered with Zumba Fitness for the nightclub tour.

In 2014, Lil Jon collaborated with DJ Snake for the hit "Turn Down for What." The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reached 3x platinum. Lil Jon is married to Nicole Smith and has a son named Nathan.
