Trailer Weekly – 12/13/14 edition – 'San Andreas,' 'The Walk' and 'Inside Out'

This week’s column talks about a variety of diverse movie genres including action, drama and animation. San Andreas is an action/disaster movie that follows one man’s harrowing ordeal in the terrifying aftermath of a devastating California earthquake. The Walk is a drama about a French high-wire artist’s walk across the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in the 1970s. Finally, Inside Out is an animated film told from the perspective of a little girl as viewers see five specific emotions in her mind as their own individual characters, trying to lead her through life. All three of these movies have powerful plots with talented actors and actresses playing them out with their boundless talents. In addition, each is replete with intense feelings including panic, distress, anxiety, fearlessness as well as naivety and innocence. Plus, all three films deal with unique locations and the actors & actresses interactions with them.

San Andreas is an action/adventure/thriller starring Dwayne Johnson, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ Alexandra Daddario, Carla Gugino, Iaon Gruffudd of the ABC hit fantasy crime drama television series Forever, Paul Giamatti and Kylie Minogue. The Walk is a drama starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Kingsley. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film is based on the true story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974. The film’s trailer shows the immense height the towers were and one’s man dream to cross them. It opens in theaters on Friday, October 2.

Inside Out is an animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The motion picture is set inside the head of a young girl, named Riley, where the five emotions of fear, anger, disgust, joy and sadness attempt to lead the girl through life.
