There are few Star Wars fans as nitpicky and detail-attentive as Mr. Plinkett, a.k.a. Mike Stoklasa of Red Letter Media. Through his hour-and-a-half plus reviews of the Star Wars prequels, he took down anything and everything wrong in his mind's eye with those films. He also explained, in hilarious detail, why they were considered such an embarrassment to fans everywhere.
So naturally, with the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens storming across the Internet this weekend, one would have to imagine Plinkett would have something to say about this new footage. Sure enough, the people over at Red Letter Media have put together a nearly nine-minute examination, parodying in the Internet's over obsession with analyzing footage, while also giving some telling commentary about the movie. Also making an appearance along the way is a familiar Star Wars character, who fans of the website will know is no stranger to these reviews.
Whether its making light of a fan-film of the same name from several years prior of the new blockbuster, or taking down the new trailer for Jurassic World, or making fun of the original returning stars of the previous films, or just continued comedy punches at the prequels or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Plinkett talks about it all in this video. While it doesn't quite live up to the comedy high marks from his original Star Wars reviews, it continues to offer great commentary on the new trailer, while fans wait for the new movie to sneak its way into theaters next December.
Additionally, Plinkett continues to be supportive of the decision of having J.J. Abrams being in the director's chair. Even Plinkett is trying to be hopeful this new sequel will be good. Though, don't expect him to be watching that new Star Wars cartoon. He "doesn't watch cartoons."
