Showtime's pilot for 'Roadies' brings in Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks has found a new role after Mad Men.

Hendricks is set to portray the character Shelli on a new pilot for Showtime called Roadies, according to The Wrap. The show is a comedy that is written and directed by Cameron Crowe, and will begin production in Vancouver early in 2015. Luke Wilson also stars.

Shelli is said to be a smart production manager to the show’s band, Variety reported. She is also the top assistant to the manager of the tour, who Wilson plays. The show centers on the production and travel crew of a touring rock band and also stars Imogen Poots and Rafe Spall, among others.

The Wrap also reported that Bryan Burk and J.J Abrams will be executive producers for the show, along with Winnie Holtzman. Holtzman will also be the showrunner for Roadies.

Mad Men has made Hendricks a popular actress, according to Variety. Along with the show, she had been in films including Drive and Life As We Know It.
