Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Taylor Swift score Grammy nominations

The Recording Academy has picked a unique way to announce the nominees for the 57th Grammys, posting categories on its Twitter page and calling out artists. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus are among the artists with early nominations.

The nominees for Best Country album are Dierks Bentley’s Riser; The Outsiders by Eric Church; 12 Stories by Brandy Clark; Miranda Lambert’s Platinum and Lee Ann Womack’s The Way I’m Livin’.

Ed Sheeran’s X has some stiff competition for Best Pop Vocal Album. The other nominees are Coldplay’s Ghost Stories; Katy Perry’s Prism; In The Lonely Hour by Sam Smith; and My Everything by Ariana Grande.

Urban Contemporary Album nominees are Beyonce’s self-titled album; Chris Brown’s X; Mali Is... by Mali Music; Pharrell Williams’ G I R L; and Jhene Aiko’s Sail Out.

Record of the Year nominees include Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” with Charli XCX. Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass”; Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)” and Sia’s “Chandelier” are the other nominees.

Ryan Seacrest announced the nominees for Best Pop Solo Performance on his radio show. They are John Legend’s “All Of Me”; Sia’s “Chandelier”; Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me”; Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off”; and Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”

The 57th Grammys are Sunday, Feb. 8 on CBS.
