Actors Jude Law and Jon Voight are celebrating their birthdays today, December 29.

Actor, film producer and director Jude law turns 42 today. In 1987, Law began acting with the National Youth Music Theatre. In 1989, Law got his first television role in a film based on the Beatrix Potter children's book, The Tailor of Gloucester. Law made his breakthrough with the British crime drama film Shopping. In 1997, he became more widely known with his role in the Oscar Wilde bio-pic entitled Wilde.
In 1999, Law starred in The Talented Mr. Ripley alongside Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett. Law earned a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
In May 2009, Law returned to the London stage to portray the title role in Shakespeare's Hamlet. That same year, Law took over the role of Heath Ledger in Terry Gilliam's film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus along with Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell.
Law played Dr. Watson in Guy Ritchie's adaption of Sherlock Holmes, alongside Robert Downey, Jr. and Rachel McAdams, as well as the 2011 sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Law has three children with his former wife, actress Sadie Frost. He had another daughter with model Samantha Burke, and has announced that he is expecting a fifth child with former girlfriend Catherine Harding.

Actor Jon Voight turns 76 today. Voight has won one Academy Award out of four nominations, and four Golden Globe Awards out of ten nominations. He is the father of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven.
Voight gained fame in the late 1960s with his performance in Midnight Cowboy in 1969. During the 1970s, Voight starred in a string of successful films including Deliverance, Coming Home, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, and the remake of The Champ.
Voight received critical acclaim for his performance in Runaway Train. During the 1990s, he most notably starred in The Rainmaker. Voight gave critically acclaimed performances in Ali, Uprising and the television movie biopic Pope John Paul II.
From 2013 and on, Voight stars on Showtime's Ray Donovan as Mickey Donovan, Ray's estranged, charismatic, highly persuasively endearing father. Voight received a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013, and is nominated again for Best Supporting Actor at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards.
