Stephen Colbert ended his show Thursday night, and celebrities expressed their goodbyes on Twitter.
Aside from many celebrities and former guests appearing at the very end of The Colbert Report, stars also went on to social media to give their final goodbyes to the host. Major names including Patton Oswald and Bill Clinton posted farewell messages to Colbert on his final television episode.
“Peace out, dreamboat,” Mindy Kaling posted. “Can’t wait to see what happens next.”
Oswald wrote on his Twitter page that Colbert “left his brilliant show to go do more brilliant stuff. We still get to see him all the time.”
President Clinton said goodbye to the host on the social media site, “But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day. Your friend, PrezBillyJeff.”
The Celebrity Café reported that the final episode of The Colbert Report featured a massive appearance of people including Jon Stewart, George Lucas, and Big Bird, among others. Along with Colbert, they all sang “We’ll Meet Again”.
Colbert wrote on Twitter “I changed the world!”
