'Captain America' star Chris Evans surprises young fan fighting brain cancer

This season is the time for giving and celebrities have been giving their time to fans who are struggling. Chris Evans, the star of Marvel’s Captain America movies, gave his time to a 9-year-old Connecticut boy, who is battling brain cancer.

Kenny Botting underwent surgery in September and has been at Christopher’s Haven in Boston for the past three weeks with his mother and sister. The organization helps young cancer patients by providing them a home away from home while they are undergoing treatments.

On Monday, CBS Boston reports, Evans visited Botting, who got to take his favorite movie star on a tour. Evans signed a picture for Botting and dropped off some gifts for him.

Evans is a Sudbury, Massachusetts native and attended a Fenway Park event to raise money for Christopher’s Haven.

“I am more than happy,” Botting told CBS Boston. “I just want to say thank thanks for coming.”

Last week, Jennifer Lawrence visited a children’s hospital in her native Louisville, Kentucky.
