The Screen Actors Guild announced its nominees for the 21st Annual SAG Awards, which will be handed out in January. Birdman and Boyhood lead the film categories, while Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones were among the TV nominees.
The nominees were announced by SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard, with The Fault in Our Stars’ Ansel Elgort and Eva Longoria.
TNT and TBS will air the awards on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.
While the guild’s top prize - Outstanding Performance by a Cast - isn’t usually a good predictor for the Best Picture Oscar winner, their individual prizes can be a good indicator in the acting Oscar categories. Last year’s SAG winners - Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett, Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong’o - all ended up winning Oscars as well.
