Sometimes you just can't let a good thing pass you by- and the latest viral video, featuring an eager Golden Retriever, shows just how true that statement is.
Competitions featuring dogs aren't anything new. Agility, disc catching, and obedience trials are fun to watch dogs compete in, and in a recent dog racing competition, a Golden Retriever really gave viewers something funny to watch.
The hilarious video was uploaded last month by user Golden Retriever Lovers, but is just now getting some significant attention. The concept of the short video is pretty simple: dogs are placed at the beginning of a runway, littered with toys, treats, and food along the sides. The dogs must successfully get to end without succumbing to the temptations.
The first two dogs do great, making it to their owners without getting distracted.... until we meet a Golden Retriever that really does want to race- but first has to enjoy all the free treats and toys around him!
The Golden Retriever bolts off of the runway towards his owner, and just when you think he's going to get the best time, he runs straight for a tennis ball. He keeps making pit stops at food bowls, plates, and toys, and it becomes apparent that the only thing he's concerned about is gobbling up as many treats as possible.
He eventually makes it to the end, but not without his owner having to drag him there.

According to a comment thread on Reddit about the video, the dog was competing in a Finnish dog race.
Although he might not have won an award for best time, there's no doubt that this dog probably considers himself the real winner.
