'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' teaser hits...finally!

Thankfully, cooler heads at Disney prevailed and the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed teaser was released online at iTunes today, in addition to the limited theatrical runs at only 30 theaters.

It’s safe to say that there hasn’t been this much excitement surrounding a single teaser since the first trailer for The Phantom Menace debuted. The Force Awakens is, after all, the first film with Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker since Return of the Jedi was released over three decades ago.

The Force Awakens is set to start 30 years after the events in Jedi. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew are all back, while the new cast includes some of the most exciting young stars of today. Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong’o headline the new cast, along with newcomer Daisy Ridley. Max Von Sydow also has a part.

In addition, the movie is being directed by J.J. Abrams, who also oversaw the successful Star Trek reboot in 2009.

The Force Awakens will not be out until Dec. 18, 2015. So, until the next trailer comes out, all we have is the following 88 seconds to analyze.

The trailer can be seen here at iTunes. Keep an eye for the embedded version and a full analysis today!
