Royals enforce dress code to U.S. journalists for Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit next month

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge make their U.S. visit next month, journalists are required to follow a dress code.

The British monarchy’s website has stated that the dress code is put in place for journalists covering their trip out of respect for the royals. It also includes cameramen and crew.

The statement warns anyone “casually dressed” will be turned away from events.

“Smart attire for men includes the wearing of a jacket and tie, and for women a trouser or skirt suit," they announced, Today.com. "Those wearing jeans or trainers will not be admitted and casually dressed members of the media will be turned away. This also applies to technicians."

As we previously reported, Clarence House confirmed earlier this month that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – no word on Prince George – will be taking a brief trip from Dec. 7-9, to both New York and Washington D.C. The couple will make both joint and separate appearances.
