One World Trade Center will open its doors to the first tenant on Monday

The first tenant of New York City’s new One World Trade Center will debut Monday, filling part of a $3.9-billion skyscraper that has transformed Manhattan's scarred skyline.
New York Daily News reported that the first business working in the 104-story building will be Conde Nast, a well-known publishing giant. There will be some 3,400 employees filling floors 20 through 44.
Other tenants are expected to include the General Services Administration, the Kids Creative advertising firm and the China Center trade facility. Conde Nast is set to be the largest tenant in the iconic skyscraper billed as America's largest. The transplanted employees feel secure: They are said to be most concerned about finding a lunch spot.
Tenants will have time to get settled before the tourists arrive. The much-anticipated observation deck, which will span 120,000 square feet, isn't expected until the spring of 2015. From the deck, one can spot many amazing landmarks, such as the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and, in the distance, the picturesque Catskill Mountains. Glimpsing such views will cost about $30.
According to the Daily Mail, the building had three previous opening dates, beginning as early as 2006. Such delays aren't uncommon in large construction projects.
”It’s long anticipated and we’re looking forward to it,” said Patti Rockenwagner, a Conde Naste spokeswoman.
